This Privacy Policy explains how Doc Scan – Document Scanner (“we”, “our”, “us”, or “the App”) accesses, uses, stores, shares, retains, and protects information when you use the App. By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Doc Scan is a document scanner app that helps users scan documents, ID cards and business cards; import images or PDF files; create, edit, merge, split, view, save and share PDF files; recognize text using OCR; and scan QR codes or barcodes.
The App uses your device camera only when you choose a camera-based feature, such as scanning a document, ID card, business card, image, QR code, or barcode. Scanned images, recognized text, and generated PDF files are generally stored locally on your device. We do not intentionally upload your scanned documents or personal files to our own server.
The App may access files, images, PDFs, or storage locations that you select so it can import, edit, save, export, or share documents. On supported Android versions, the App may use the system file or photo picker. On older Android versions, storage permission may be requested where required. Files remain under your control unless you choose to export or share them with another app, person, or service.
The App may use Google ML Kit or related Google document-processing services to detect documents and recognize text from selected or scanned images. OCR output may contain text visible in your document. This processing is used to provide document scanning and text-recognition features. Google components may process technical information according to Google’s privacy practices.
If you use QR code or barcode features, the App may read the text, URL, contact details, or other information encoded in the code. The result is displayed to you so you can decide whether to copy it or open a related action. We do not intentionally sell QR code or barcode content.
The App may display banner, interstitial, native, rewarded, or other advertisements through Google AdMob and advertising mediation partners such as Meta Audience Network and AppLovin. These advertising services may automatically collect or process information such as advertising identifiers, IP address, device and operating-system information, app interactions, ad impressions and clicks, approximate location derived from technical signals, diagnostics, and fraud-prevention data. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies and your applicable consent or device settings.
The App may allow you to watch a rewarded ad in exchange for an ad-free benefit for a stated period, such as the same day. The App may store the reward status, date, or related preference locally on your device so the benefit can be applied.
The App may use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Remote Config, or other Google/Firebase services for analytics, app configuration, stability, crash reporting, security, and performance improvement. Depending on the service, these tools may process app-instance identifiers, device and operating-system information, app interactions, crash logs, diagnostics, and related technical information. We do not intentionally send your scanned document contents to Firebase for these purposes.
The App may offer monthly and yearly ad-free subscriptions and a lifetime ad-free one-time purchase through Google Play Billing. Google Play processes the payment. We do not receive or store your full credit-card, debit-card, bank-account, or other complete payment details. The App may receive and process information from Google Play such as the selected product, purchase state, purchase token, entitlement status, and related transaction status so it can activate, verify, or restore your ad-free benefit. Purchase or entitlement preferences may also be stored locally on your device.
The App may open your chosen email, messaging, cloud-storage, or sharing app when you decide to share a document, image, PDF, or OCR text. The receiving app or service will handle the shared content under its own privacy policy. We do not store the recipient email address on our server merely because you use the device’s share function.
Doc Scan does not currently provide user account creation or sign-in. We therefore do not intentionally maintain a Doc Scan account profile containing your name, password, or scanned documents on our own server.
Information may be used for the following purposes:
Camera permission is used when you choose to scan a document, image, QR code, or barcode. You can deny or revoke this permission, but camera-based features may not work.
File, photo, media, or legacy storage access may be used where necessary to import or save documents. On newer Android versions, the App may use a system picker that lets you select specific files without granting broad access.
Internet and network-state access may be used to load ads, communicate with Google Play Billing, use Firebase or Google services, obtain consent information, check app configuration or updates, and open online links.
If notification features are available, the App may request permission to show app-related alerts. You can deny or disable notifications from Android settings.
Google Play Billing is used to offer and manage ad-free purchases. Payment and subscription management are handled by Google Play and your Google Play account.
Scanned documents, images, OCR text, PDF files, document lists, and app preferences are generally stored locally on your device until you delete them, clear app storage, or uninstall the App. Exported or shared files may remain outside the App’s private storage and may not be removed when the App is uninstalled.
Google Play may retain purchase and transaction records according to its legal obligations and policies. Advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, and other third-party services may retain technical information according to their own retention policies. We do not control data retained directly by those independent services.
We do not sell your scanned documents or personal files. Information may be disclosed or processed in the following circumstances:

Advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your region, age-related settings, consent choices, Google settings, and applicable law. Where required, the App may use a consent message or Google’s User Messaging Platform to request or manage advertising and analytics choices.
You may be able to review privacy choices from an in-app privacy option, your Android settings, or your Google account. Buying an ad-free plan stops or reduces ads in the App while the applicable entitlement is active, but it does not automatically erase information previously processed by third-party services.
Monthly and yearly plans are subscriptions managed through Google Play and may renew according to the purchase terms shown by Google Play. The lifetime plan is a one-time in-app product intended to provide the stated ad-free entitlement for the supported App. You can view, manage, or cancel an active subscription through Google Play. Restoring a purchase may require the same Google account that completed the purchase and an internet connection.
Doc Scan generally stores scanned documents, images, PDF files, OCR text, and app preferences locally on the user’s device. Because these files are not intentionally uploaded to our own server, we usually cannot view or remotely delete them for you.

Clear Cache generally removes temporary files. It may not delete saved documents, PDF files, exported images, purchase status, or other app data. Menu names may differ by device manufacturer and Android version.
To remove app-local data more completely, you may use:
Settings > Apps > Doc Scan > Storage > Clear Storage / Clear Data
Clearing storage or app data may permanently remove locally stored document lists, app-private files, OCR text, preferences, ad-reward status, and other App data. Back up any files you want to keep before using this option. Files already exported or shared outside the App may remain and must be deleted separately.
You may uninstall the App at any time. Uninstalling normally removes app-private data, subject to Android backup, restore, and device-storage behavior. Exported files or files saved outside the App’s private folder may remain on your device or in a third-party service and should be deleted manually if required.
Clearing storage or uninstalling the App does not delete your Google Play purchase history or information retained by Google, advertising providers, analytics providers, or another service under its own policy. Use the privacy, account, purchase, or deletion controls provided by the relevant service for such information.
Since Doc Scan does not currently provide user account creation or login, we generally do not maintain a Doc Scan user account containing your scanned files on our server. If you have a privacy question or believe we hold information that you want us to review or delete, contact us using the email address below. Please include the App name and a clear description of your request. For your security, do not email scanned identity documents, financial documents, passwords, payment-card details, or other sensitive files.

The App is not directed to children for the purpose of knowingly collecting personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action. Parents and guardians should supervise a child’s use of document scanning, sharing, advertising, and purchase features.
We use reasonable measures appropriate to the App to protect information we control. However, no device, mobile application, internet transmission, or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Keep your device protected and avoid scanning, storing, or sharing highly sensitive documents unless necessary.
Third-party services such as Google, Firebase, Meta, or AppLovin may process information on servers located in different countries. Their processing and international transfers are governed by their own policies and applicable law.
The App may contain links or user-initiated actions that open websites, email apps, messaging apps, cloud services, or other third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, security, availability, or privacy practices of those external services.
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, third-party services, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. You should review this page periodically.
