This Privacy Policy explains how Doc Scan – Document Scanner (“we”, “our”, “us”, or “the App”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our mobile application. By using this app, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Doc Scan is a document scanner app that helps users scan documents, convert images to PDF, perform OCR, scan QR codes, import files, merge/split PDF, share files, and manage scanned documents on their device.
The App uses your device camera to scan documents, ID cards, business cards, QR codes, and other images. Scanned images and generated PDF files are generally stored locally on your device unless you choose to share, export, upload, or send them using another app or service.
The App may request access to photos, media, files, or storage so that you can import images/PDF files and save scanned documents. We do not intentionally upload your local documents to our server. Your files remain under your control on your device unless you choose to share them.
The App may use OCR technology to recognize text from scanned images. OCR output may include text visible in your document. OCR processing is used only to provide text recognition features inside the App.
If you use QR Scan or barcode scan features, the App may read the text, URL, contact details, or other information encoded in the QR code/barcode. This information is shown to you inside the App and is not intentionally sold by us.
The App may show ads using Google AdMob, including banner ads, interstitial ads, native ads, and rewarded ads. Google AdMob may collect certain information such as device information, advertising identifiers, approximate location, app interaction, diagnostics, and other data required for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.
The App may provide a rewarded ad option. If you watch a rewarded ad, the App may hide ads for the same day. This preference may be stored locally on your device to remember that ads should remain hidden for that day.
The App may use Google Firebase or Google Play services for features such as app configuration, stability, crash reporting, analytics, or performance improvement. These services may collect device and usage-related information according to Google’s privacy practices.
Doc Scan may ask users to enter an email address only when they choose to send or share a scanned document by email. This email address is used only for the selected email/share action and is not stored on our server.
We may use information for the following purposes:
Camera permission is required to scan documents, QR codes, and images. Without camera permission, scanning features may not work properly.
Storage or media permission may be used to import images/PDF files and save scanned documents on your device.
Internet permission may be used to load ads, access Google services, open policy/about links, and support online features.
If the App uses notifications, permission may be requested to send important app-related alerts or updates. You can disable notifications from your device settings.
Scanned documents, images, and PDF files are generally stored locally on your device. You can delete them from within the App or from your device storage. If you uninstall the App, locally stored app data may be removed depending on your device settings.
Third-party services such as Google AdMob or Firebase may retain data according to their own privacy policies and retention practices.
We do not sell your scanned documents or personal files. However, information may be shared in the following situations:
The App may use third-party services. These services may collect information according to their own privacy policies:
