Data Deletion

Practical steps to remove local information, cloud backups or app access.

Phone data

Clear app records and temporary files using the app or Android Settings.

Drive videos

Choose and delete the cloud backups you no longer need.

Subscriptions

Manage cancellation separately in Google Play.

1. Remove local app information

  • Open Video Backup Mitra. Pause active transfers and wait for them to stop.
  • Open Settings → Disconnect all and erase local data, read the confirmation and confirm.
  • This removes connected-account records, local backup/transfer metadata and history, daily reward records, cached thumbnails and pending transfer files after the operation completes.
  • Google authorization revocation needs a working connection. If the operation cannot complete, reconnect and retry, or use the Android method below and remove Google access separately.

Android method

Open Android Settings → Apps → Video Backup Mitra → Storage → Clear storage / Clear data. Labels vary by phone. This also removes remaining app preferences and locally stored SDK consent. Uninstalling removes app-private data under Android’s rules.

What stays: your original phone videos, completed restored Gallery copies, Google Drive backups and Google Play subscriptions are not deleted by local erasure.

2. Delete videos backed up to Google Drive

  • Open My Backup in the app and choose the correct Google account.
  • Select the app-created videos you want to remove, choose Delete and confirm. They move to Google Drive Trash.
  • You can also open Google Drive, find the Video Backup Mitra folder and manage the relevant files there.
  • To delete permanently, review the files in Drive Trash and use Google Drive’s permanent-delete controls. Files in Trash may still affect storage until permanently removed.

Check before permanent deletion

Permanent deletion may not be reversible. Confirm that you no longer need these videos or that another usable copy exists. Google controls Drive Trash retention and recovery.

3. Remove Google authorization

In the app, use Accounts → Disconnect for the relevant account. You can also review Video Backup Mitra under your Google Account connections and remove its access.

This stops the app’s authorized access for that account. It does not delete the Google account, its other files or existing backups. The app does not create a separate password-based Bindi Developer account.

4. Remove restored files from your phone

Completed restores are saved in Movies / Video Backup Mitra Restored. Use your phone’s Gallery or Files app to remove those copies if you no longer want them. Deleting an app record or uninstalling the app does not itself delete these shared-media files.

5. Cancel a subscription separately

Open Google Play subscriptions using the account that purchased the plan, select the subscription and follow Google Play’s cancellation steps. Uninstalling, disconnecting Drive or clearing app data does not cancel it.

A Lifetime purchase is a one-time purchase, not a renewing subscription. Buying Lifetime does not automatically cancel a previously purchased subscription. Google may retain payment/transaction records under its policies.

6. Request help or deletion of information we control

Email vijyacrafto@gmail.com with the subject “Video Backup Mitra — Data Deletion”. You can request help without reinstalling the app.

  • State the app name and whether your request concerns support emails, developer/hosting records, local app data or Drive backups.
  • Include a contact email and enough information to identify your request. We may request reasonable verification before acting on records under our control.
  • Do not send passwords, OTPs, payment-card details, UPI PINs or private videos.

Our verification service does not maintain a user-video or purchase-token history database. Short-lived hashed rate-limit records are periodically cleaned. Hosting/security logs and support emails may be retained as needed for operations, resolving requests or applicable legal obligations; ask us about records relevant to your request.

We cannot access and erase arbitrary files in your personal Drive or on your phone through an email request. Use the authorized account/device steps above. Where a provider controls retained records, we can explain the relevant route for that provider.
